Here the visitors stroll along Avenue de Clichy passing Signac's home (the only friend to visit Vincent in the hospital in Arles after he'd sliced off part of his ear), past two restaurants, Café Guerbois and Père Lathuille's--favorite hangouts of the Impressionists, and then along boulevard de Clichy, past Seurat (who inspired Vincent to paint larger after he'd moved to Arles) and Signac's studios, past Cormon's atelier, where Vincent studied for a few months and where he met his best friends (Bemard and Lautrec), past the Moulin Rouge, past other cabarets frequented by the Van Gogh brothers and Toulouse-Lautrec (Le Chat Noir, Elysée Montmartre), ending at place d'Anvers where Alexander Reid lived. Reid, a competitor of the brothers who also wanted to import the Impressionists to England, looked so much like Vincent that people often had trouble telling the two apart.

The walk ends just doors away at Mary Cassatt's home, at the address found in Theo's carnet. Each entry, as expected, brims with surprising vignettes connected to his life.
